Horse-man-ship Mentality – Horsemanship Missing Link
Wisdom from the saddle.
I see people think they are doing things with their horses, but they are not, or they could be just guessing.
I enjoy Mark Twain’s wit and humor and he quoted; It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble, it’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.
The awareness of one’s understanding is the bridge to better horsemanship.
Are you curious as to where you are on the bridge? Or have you ever considered the importance of knowing exactly where you are?
These questions when you answer them honestly (not guess) will give you an accurate assessment of where you are so you can continue to improve.
1. Can you tell when your horse leaves you when you are walking down the trail?
2. Can you feel where your horse’s attention is?
3. When the horse is focused to the right which way is he likely to go?
4. Does your horse push back against your legs?
5. Do you know where your energy is going into the horse?
6. Is focusing your energy important?
7. How far in front should you stay observant when riding?
Ponder these questions and over the next blogs, we will drive into these questions.
For clear understanding.
